Who is shooting today

I didn’t make it out with the AR. I had a 50 cal can full of stuffed pmags and the rifle in the Scout when my wife came into the garage in a sun dress and told me she wanted to drink tequila on the patio while our 2 year old took a nap. I knew what that meant. Shooting is fun and all buuuut....

Mine loads the mags, boxes them, puts them and the a.r. in the suburban, and hands me the keys......

And she burned her last sun dress 15 years ago....

Says I'm slow to take a hint.... ???

Last time alcohol was involved, there was this thing called "bond"... so... no more of that for her..... ?

Here’s a pic of the toy I didn’t get to play with. Sorry no pics of the toys I did.

Tested out some 6.5CM loads. H4350 and 140 ELDs. All tested under 1/2” with the best at just over 1/4”. All 4 shot groups. Have to boost speed though. Pretty slow round. Wife was running factory stuff and testing the Savage Mk II in 22, with match ammo. Perfect day, perfect weather. Empty range. ??

Yep. Was raining like hell today, but I went shootin' anyway. Bow hunting the rest of the weekend. Saw a fat hog, tried to stick him at about 50 yards. Little too high.

Busted out the range finder and sighted in at 20, 25,30, and the long shot of the yard......35yds. Shot some rotten apples. And best of all my bowtech didn’t explode for once!

Sounds like good training.

Ill admit though anything sporting wood stays inside during the weather.

It is. Rain, snow, or shine we take what we get as we would on any given day. I've done this a long time. I'm not impressed with getting soaked and having to tear all my shit apart to dry it out over and over. It's a pain in the ass, that's all I'm say'n.

All I had time for yesterday was about two hours of drills running an Aimpoint Comp C and Trijicon Accupower 1-4X back to back on the same carbine.

Recently bought the Trijicon but I'm still not sold on its reticle. Seems too busy at inside the house distances and it's definitely not daylight bright.

5 yd up drills on 1.5" circles: Aimpoint (0.1 sec faster average)
5 yd double tap drills on 3x5 cards: Aimpoint (0.08 sec faster average)
3 yd transitions at 7 yds: tie
10 rounds on 9" paper plate at 100 yds: Aimpoint
10 rounds on 9" paper plate at 170 yds: Trijicon

If Trijicon had eliminated the segmented circle and all the stadia lines except the BDC, enlarged the center dot to 2 MOA, and lit it up daylight bright, that Accupower would be unbeatable. The timer doesn't lie though.

I might keep it for a build or sell it to buy a 1-4X Accupoint (tritium/fiber optic). In the meantime, I'll roll with the red dot which is easier to use for this carbine's primary purpose and still lets me nail a torso sized target inside 250 yards with relative ease.
