I had a thread asking about a Hornady and every thing came back negative. I am thankful I checked before I made the purchase. What would you recommend? I will be using Varget for most of my 308 loads. Thanks

+1, you couldn't buy mine.

Another super accurate way is to use a cheap 20 buck Lee
perfect powder measure set about 3-4 tenths low and trickle
the remaining tenths on an Acculab. About the same price
and just about as fast.

trickle up. I started that way, bought an electronic dispenser, shit canned it, and completed the circle. I do have a nice thrower, a Harrel's. Started with a Lee, and the difference is not night and day like you would think.

Most of the time, I just throw it into the brass. I can't see the difference on paper or steel. I feel better about it when I weigh every charge, but it does not seem to make a difference.

have you guys done the speed update on the chargemaster? its in the programming and from what i read speeds it up. just curious. i use the RCBS thrower and trickle up. i weigh every charge. works now but i hope to shoot alot more and have been looking at a chargemaster for later down the line

Been using the Lyman DPS III for quite some time, and it's as good at measuring out powder(especially Varget) as any other method I've used. Doesn't like metering out powders like H-110 or those Accurate Arms powders like #2, #5, #7(and so on)....the granules are so small that it binds things up.

Which ever one you get, keep the scale cleaned and zero'd and it'll work just fine. Even the most expensive scale that can be found on the internet is usless if not clean and zero'd....doesn't matter who has made it.

China.

I think it's foolish to judge everything by where it is made. Good products CAN come out of China. It just depends on their QC.

For instance, Iphones are made in China yet you don't hear anyone complaining about their quality.

When you buy American, America works. Who works when people buy things from Mexico,China,India and the likes. And people wonder why we have so many people out of work. I would choose to keep America working. I even buy rice grown in American and that is all China has to offer. And Mexico has good jumping beans but what has India and the others to offer?
