Rifle Scopes who makes the lightest weight variable scope

Re: who makes the lightest weight variable scope

I would think Leupolds MR/T 2.5-8x36 @ 16 oz or Leupold Tactical VX-R Patrol Riflescopes 3-9x40mm @ 15.3 oz are about that lightest that I can think of that come with a Mil based reticle standard.

Of course most of Leupold's better scopes can be ordered with a Mil reticle at extra cost from the custom shop if turrets are not an issue (turrets can also be added at extra cost).

Re: who makes the lightest weight variable scope

Check out the march 3-24x42. It has a mil reticle and weighs in at 21 oz. The glass is outstanding. I shot a midrange f-class with one sunday and could read the scoring numbers on the target at 600 yards. That is saying something because my eyes aren't the best.

Re: who makes the lightest weight variable scope

The leupold 4.5-14x40 is extremely light for a 30mm tube. Weighs 16 oz. Lighter and more compact than the 3.5-10x40 strangely. You can have it fit with M1, 2, or 3 turrets. Otherwise look at 1" scopes.

Re: who makes the lightest weight variable scope

Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36mm weighs 11.4 oz w/ duplex. Can be ordered through the custom shop with the mildot reticle. Can't imagine a reticle is going to change the weight of the scope much.

Re: who makes the lightest weight variable scope

I have the Weaver 3.5X10 mildot that Midway sells. It's not FFP, but is mil/mil and weighs 16 OZ.

I think I'll give that a try until I narrow in on a better solution.

I also have a VX1 4-12 with target turrets that's not very heavy.

what price range are you thinking? and what distance are you thinking about shooting?
