Who's shooting Berger 80.5 Fullbores in 223?

I am! I am!

I just finished up my testing, and settled on 24.7g of 8208 XBR. I have 'em loaded long (2.460") in Lapua cases, and I get an honest 2800fps from an 18" Bartlein.

I started 0.005" off the lands, and worked from there. My 5-shot groups tightened up to one hole at 0.030" off the lands. I wouldn't call them seat-depth sensitive at all. They seem to behave as well as 80g SMKs

Wow!

I wonder how that would do with 10 more inches of barrel...

That seems like a stout charge (for comparison's sake, I'm running 80gr A-Max @ 2.485" 25.8gr XBR in a 223AI case)...you seeing any pressure signs?

In my standard 223 Lapua cases, I tried to test all the way up to 25.6g of 8208 XBR

At 25.0g, the bolt started to stick just a bit. At 25.3g, I was blowing primers. I decided to skip the 25.6g test!

80.5 Bergers in 223 rem 1/7 at 30.5" 2900 fps

Use this load to 600m in F class use 90 VLD to 1000

Brass lapua neckturned,uniformed primer pockets.
CCI BR primers
Varget (near max)
Seated kissing lands Note; you should check and sort bullets for ogive lengths.
I have used the 80 VLD,80 JLK & sierra 80gr they all shot very well, but the 80.5 are a just a little better in my gun
Hope this is of help
