Why is lowlight’s recoil pad upside down?

Oh boy am I late to the party... I won’t bump that old thread I’m pretty sure mine is perfectly symmetrical and flat on the MRAD rifle. I’ll finish the book a time or two before I break out an exacto blade.

This is perhaps the best question ever asked on the 'Hide...after 42,000 on on 'what is the best optic for a Remington PSS', or 'what rifle should I get to shoot one thousand yards'...we have found a winner.
There is literally no wrong answer to this. However, those of us 'in the know', realize that this is the most comfortable position for a recoil pad when you have to use a step stool to shoot off a tripod.

For those that don't use rear bag or a pod flipping the padlock like that keeps it from slipping down under recoil.
