My last batch of Winchester 300WM brass would not group, no matter what I tried. I did notice that the bullets seated with inconsistent pressure and with more seating resistance than other brass that I had annealed and they did not resize as small. Hmmm...
I annealed a lot of 25 pieces of virgin brass and shot all 25 into a sub-moa group on steel at 1000 yds.
I don't know if they skipped the step, or they were under-annealed, but they sure shoot great now. Never run into this before.
