    hey quick Q ?
why my USO 34mm rings made to Adj. on both sides of Base Clamp ? 4- Screw Clamps

Why aren't they made like the other Manufacturers Rings I have had with just ONE-Side to tighten ?. Seems a little more work needed to center than any other Rings I have had in past & Never had a problem before with centering my Rings on the Base .
Seems you are begging to get your scope off center of Base w/ 4-Sides, Rather than making your Rings with One-side Each .
    .

    So where is Center ?
    .
    edit to add:
Why do I want to float my optics left or right out of center .? I have a precession Rig with a precision optic & I have a Windage Adj. Knob on my scope . So now I get a set of new Rings where I have to guess where center of the Ring Set is . ?????

Use a Collimator then you can adjust the rings to center. Make sure your scope is Center first of course. I would use loctite to be sure the screws don't come loose. Happen to me during a match

    I thought a collimator is used to ( zero ) an Optic ( bore sight ) ?

& you are telling me to ..." make sure my scope is center 1st of course ".
    .
But 'where is' ( Concentric Ring-Center ) in lining-up of ( Both Rings together ) , if both side of each Rings 'float' in free-adjustment - left & right ?
I am just saying this as to avoid Ring Marks on my Scope with these USO 34mm Rings by binding the scope out of concentric Ring-Center

You know I think you are better off selling the rings and getting some other brand.

You know I probably will but to shot right now today I just said fuck it & put 20 in/lb on right-side of the claw plate & Rings. Then mounted Rings & put 35 to tighten-down on the other side & called it good . That is the only way I know to have a hard base reference of concentric to work center off that is Square to my Scope off my Base .

Why make it a guessing game to get the Rings concentric to scope tube ?
I don't get it . & I have Never Ever had this problem pop-up before with any set of Rings . This particular Rig has over 4-k rounds threw it but Yesterday went to pop-on a new set of Rings . I have owned a other quality brand Rings but I never had any other set of Rings before that had Adjustable claw-plates on both sides of the Rings .

    edit to add:

I do understand what is meant with using a collimator to align scope that is sitting in Ring .
Parallelogram is technically what happened to Scope Rings when moved out of square . That causes ring marks & binding . & that is what these rings are begging to do when you have all 4-sides floating for free Lateral adjustment to the 4 equal corners measurements of box square that is dictated by your Pic. BASE that hold Rings .
