We finally had to give up hopes on a big one. She got these two and was proud of them. Maybe next year she will have a chance. She still wants to get another one on the late December hunt. I ended up taking a doe and button buck on the last night of season too.

Thanks guys. She has been asking me everyday if I posted them. She is proud! She got to experience the whole deal. Gutting, deboning and packaging of the meat. She had her own knife and was getting into the whole thing.

Re: Wife and her OK deer

It is a GAP templar in 7wsm, #7 barrel contour, McMillan A3-A5 stock, Jewel trigger 12oz, and a Night Force 5.5-22 with zero stops. It's a lot of gun for her but accurate. She shoots it off a shooting table with a bipod and monopod. She is doing real well at the 300 to 350 yard range. Hoping to let her shoot targets out to 1000 yards this summer. Yeah, I switched to the 162 amax. Really really like it!
