I have an old Remington 700 with a newer .308 SPS 1-10 twist barrel screwed on. I am having problems getting 155's to shoot below 2" groups with them. I have shot from 43-46 grains of varget and 2.8 all the way to 2.85 and no luck. Anybody get 155's to work out of a 20" 1-10 barrel or should I just give up and shoot heavier bullets? Im thinking of just sticking with the 178 AMAX as I like those.
I also noticed that my action sits deep enough from the bottom into my HS Precision stock that after a few rounds the hing plate pops open. Thats not helping my groups with that pressure placed on the action.
I have a box and a half of Sierra 155 Palma im willing to trade if this is helpless.
Anyone
