I came across these bullets,solid copper/lighter and longer. http://www.gsgroup.co.za/308137SP157.html
I will be shooting these from a Rem 700 .308 win with a 1-in-10 twist. My ballistic program say's at a MV of 3200, at 1000yards I would have 1426fps and I would need only 24.50 moa. I need to know if it will work?

The numbers look good even at 3000FPS. The MV may be the limiting factor in this case. Can you push a 137 at 3200 or 3000 out of a 308? Side wind drift may be a problem. you could compare it to a 178Amax with your software. I'd shoot it and see.

I think it could, but there may also be some unintended consequences.

Stretching a ballistic system to its limits puts stress and strain into an equation that may already be marginal. System reliability erodes, and the desired performance may soon become no longer attainable.

Just please consider the unanticipated costs and frustrations that pushing reasonable limits can often generate. BTDT (as in trying to push a 120gr 6.5 NosBT to 1000yd with a .260 Rem 28", 1:8" twist), and it's a lonely place sometimes.

I went ahead and ordered some bullets. I can't wait to put them to the test!!!!

Hello to all, the bullets have arrived. It's amazing what can be done with CFE 223 at 54grs under 137 gr and Hornady match brass. I'm not having any pressure signs, have got to load up some rounds and get up to K & M Precision Rifle Training range to shoot out to a thousand. This bullet is a long one and shaped like a rocket. Spec's: .461 BC 1.25 inch long lathe turned. Will keep all informed with results.

An accurate MV and a good BC with the projectile still super sonic = hitting it at a grand.

Still have not made it out to a 1000 yard range yet, but it will be very soon!!!
