Gunsmithing Will adding new bottom metal affect bedding work?

I have a rem.5r with a bedded action. I would like to add a Badger BDM. Will this affect the bedding work? Thanks.

Get the inlet wrong and it's entirely possible for the thing to bind up. This will induce a stress on the stock and affect the bedding.

caseyru, I have a 5R that I had Score-Hi Gunsmithing in Albuquerque add a Seekins DBM to. It shoots great and they did really nice work. I really like the Seekins design. The mag ambidextrous mag release buttons instead of a lever are easy to use but don't snag on pack straps and such.

Thanks. I will look into the Seekins and I quess have a smith do any install.

I've switched bottom metal without re-bedding & never seen a change in accuracy.
