I was just about to reload some brass that I have fired 4 times. I was going through this brass trying to find the perfect load for my gun, and now that I finally found it I want to make a bunch of rounds with that load. When I first started using the brass it was at a length of 2.008, and now it is to a length of 2.016. When I found my good load the brass was at a length of 2.013. If I load with the same specs when it was 2.013, will this be different as far as consistancy goes? I thought it would at least change the POI a little. But I just wanted to know what anyone has to say before I go loading them up. Thanks

Re: Will This Affect Accuracy?

I don't know about your SPS but mine did not start having a growth problem till 2.055. Now I did notice the seating pressures were more and trimming them did help and bring the ES and SD numbers back down.

Sorry but im not sure if I understand right. 2.055 seems way higher than I would have thought possible lol. Are you saying that you just let them stretch after every time you shot withought trimming them untill you got around 2.055? If so this would be cool if I could do the same because I ordered the wrong case trimmer, so now I dont have a way to trim my cases.

Re: Will This Affect Accuracy?

I think you'll have more neck tension increase from work hardening than you will from length increase (within proper length limits). This is why I don't normally resize necks for their full length, but only when the shoulder needs a bump.

Re: Will This Affect Accuracy?

That correct. My Winchester brass took about 20 firing before they started becoming hard to seat. At that point I looked at cases that were tight in my chamber and ones that were not. I just so happens that my SPS chamber will let the cases grow to 2.055 before it becomes a real problem. My dads SPS will actually accept longer than that.
