I recently switched to wilson dies. The bullet seating die comes with the base it sits on; the little disc with a hole in the center. Why is that necessary? I am using a Sinclair arbor press.

I am sure this has been discussed but i couldnt find it.

Thanks for the help.

Re: wilson seating die

It may not be absolutely necessary. But if you get a powder kernal or small piece of rock under the primer, you will know why it came with the die. The hole is to keep the primer up off the base of the arbor press base plate.

Add a Sinclair micrometer top, makes life easy for sure. I would like to know why the Wilson neck doesn't come with a base of some sort, does Wilson think everybody uses a hammer
