Re: Wilson seating stem vld bullets?
I had problems with VLD bullets getting "stuck" in the seater stems, so what I did was take the stem and drill out a larger relief for the extra long bullets with a bit about 1/2 the diameter of the engagement point, took less than a minute to do. This created a little pocket for the extra long noses to fit into and I haven't had a problem since. I use a Redding instant indicator to measure seating depth and there is very little variation in seating depth (1 in 20 will vary as much as 0.0015"). I'm very happy with the Wilson since that one little modification (though I'd only do it if you actually notice a problem)
If you do buy a wilson, pay the extra money for a stainless micrometer version if it is available for your cartridge. Keeping rust of the carbon steel ones is a PITA, and the micrometer really makes life a LOT easier. If a stainless version isn't available then get the Sinclair micrometer top.
