Hey guys do any of you all know what the Twist rate is on the factory Win mod 70 300 wsm 24" Barrel would be?

I just picked one of these up on the cheap for this up coming hunting season and would like to work up a good load for the barrel.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Use a cleaning rod for a .30 cal rifle with a bore brush on it to figure out the twist rate.

Insert the cleaning rod all the way to the end of the muzzle.

Then put a piece of white tape around the rod at the back of the receiver.

With a Sharpie, put a mark on the tape at the top, so you can tell when one complete revolution of the rod has occurred.

Withdraw the rod to the rear, until the mark returns to the top of the rod.

Measure the distance from the back of the receiver to the new position of the tape.

That distance is the twist rate.
