Hi... I found a win model 70 classic featherweight in stainless steel new haven mfg in 270 win... I am considering buying it. All the metal work seems to be in good condition. However there is a small 4 inch long hairline crack in the stock around the magazine area .. (NOT Good)... However I know these rifles are hard to come by these days.
The rifle has a price tag of about $550... but i worry that to have the stock repaired or replaced would be really expensive... i will try to post pics of the crack in a few days...
Any advice would be appreciated
