Has anyone ever fed a .223 win70 from detachable mags? I can get a TBM kit but I know those were designed for the 308 rounds. As a result, I believe I will run into feeding problems.
My other option is to convert it into feeding from AICS type mags with a PT&G bottom metal which I will have to look for and purchase from a retailer that carries them and not from the actual PT&G manufacturer. If I go the AI type route, are there any AI type mags out there that reliably feed .223 rounds? I've never owned .223 so not very knowledged on this.
I'm starting to look into this now because I recently bought a win70 in. 223 and already looking for another. Although my next will be an FN SPR in .308 whenever I am able to find a decent one at a decent price, no rush. Currently, my rifle is being fed from an internal box magazine as these came out from factory that way in an HS stock.

    Any info would be appreciated.

That’s going to be a tough one. I have the same rifle and basically gave up on the DBM set up. Not much aftermarket options for the win model 70’s. You might be able to get a chassis system and then mill the receiver so it will accept aics mags.

I know the receiver will need to be milled off a slight bit in order to accept AI style mags. My concern is with the mags themselves. I believe magpul has some AICS .223 mags and possibly a few other manufacturers too. I'm wondering if anyone has had trouble feeding their 223 rifles from such mags. I have an accurate mag and magpul, both AI style, and they work good for me but this is for my 6.5 CM.

I have an accurate mag for my Remington 700 5r 223 and it works perfect with no issues.

This is good to know. My accurate mag runs good on my 6.5 for the most part but does have a hiccup with the last round in the mag. Because of that, I ended up putting it away and strictly using my magpul. Anyhow, it seems I may have to go the AI route on my model 70 and have the receiver milled.
