Any Advice is welcome. I have a post 64 push feed M70 w/sporter barrel. Looking to upgrade. I have never purchased a new barrel. A lot of options. I am looking into a Krieger #10 heavy target/match bull barrel. Possibly 1:10 twist? 24”-26” Long. 160ish grain bullet. I hunt with 180 grain Hornady Superformance. I will still deer hunt with it some but I hunt with my M700 SPS Tactical .308 as well. Am I on the right track here? And what is a normal procedure for purchasing this or should I just send them the receiver and let them take care of it. I am looking to stretch this gun out on the range some. It’s a great hunting rifle but if I’m looking for precision I grab my 700. I’d love to have a 1000 yard gun in hopes to find somewhere to shoot that far one day.

Look up Long Rifles Inc. @LongRifles Inc. they are masters with the 70. Classic or tactical. Top tier builder. Nobody does the 70 better.

.264 win mag

I have a post 64 M70 that I had Phoenix Custom Rifles build. Had them chamber in 300wm cause match grade ammo was easier for me to find. I dont reload so the 300wm was a better choice for me.

I have given some thought to going .300WM. I have also heard that you can’t open up the bolt face to make it work. Yea your rifle there is exactly what I’m looking to do. Nice build man. Did you have any issues going to .300WM or was it already a 300?

It was a 7mag. I couldnt find match grade ammo for it, so I re barreled into the 300wm.

So that wasn’t a bad conversion then. I will probably just stay with 30/06. It is a very capable round. I don’t reload but I believe there are several different match grade 06 ammo on the market. I appreciate all of the advice guys. I can’t wait to get this project started now. Now to break this news to the wife Hahahaha
