Winchester model 67

My dad has one that looks about new. I dont known anything about it except that he wants me to have it. Were these quality rifles? Are there scope bases made for it? Do they shoot?

The 67 Winchesters were one of the best shooting and learning 22lr there ever was. I think I'd be safe in saying those 22's have put more meat on tables than any other 22lr ever made. I would not install a scope on one as they had/have very good sights when they came from the factory. I've killed everything from dump rats to birds an Deer with one.

Those are a piece of American History and put a lot of food on Depression era tables, including my Grandfathers, and my fathers as well. I've still got that same 22, and even though my eyes are not 20 anymore it still prints very small groups at 50 yds with the irons.

Don't they come with regular buckhorn sights?

Mine has a flat top blade rear with bead front. Got mine when I was 7 years old in 1946. Long barrel with sub-sonics...better and quieter life in the suburbs. JMHO

They are a nice rimfire and there is some history to them.
Thank your Dad, take it and go shooting with him!

ps: screw the scope bases, just get it out and shoot it as is. You will be the better shooter for it.
