Winchester Model 670 same as M70?

I have an older Win Model 670 that was my dad's in 243 Win that I am looking to complete a build off of. I am by no means a Winchester guy and know little about the M70. Everything I can find on this M670 says it is was just a stripped down, "plain Jane" M70 of that time. However, looking at this gun and comparing it to a M70 7 Mag I own, the safetys look completely different. This one is located along the stock, more like a Rem 700, not on the bolt. I am trying to figure out what stocks and parts may be available (McM, H-S or B&C). The other thing is that it appears to be a long action.

Looking for someone that has some experience with these. When ordering parts, am I gonna be OK with going with any M70 LA parts for this thing? Just want to make sure I know what I am looking for.

The Wincheste Model 670 was just an somewhat less expensive version of a standard model 70 for the occasional hunter. They were all blind magazine with just a trigger guard, and the stocks were usually a checkered hardwood stock, not walnut. The 670 models had a two position safety on the right rear tang and the 670A models had the standard Winchester 3-position safety on the bolt shroud. This is just from memory and at 70 years old I may have these reversed.

P.S. Most of the aftermarket stocks will be inletted for the 670A with the standard Model 70 bolt shroud safety. Plan on doing a bit of custom fitting and inletting for the trigger mounted 2-position safety. We have never had a Model 670 in here ( McMillans) and have no programming for this safety.
