just got my wildcat open the bolt and closed it kinda hard to do feels like it is draging on something but appears to be nothing there is it like that till i work the bolt a bit or is there something wrong

Re: winchester wildcat varmint bolt

Mine was very tight with a loaded round. I believe this is because the used a very tight match chamber. I would clean it all up, lube the bolt, and shoot the hell out of it. I think you will be very impressed with the accuracy with these rifles. I can get one hole groups at 25 yds and 1" or a hair less at 100 yds consistently. Did you get the sporter or varmint?

Re: winchester wildcat varmint bolt

Mine was hard to close also, it should be easier as you put some rounds through it.

Wolf MT it was harder than with the cheaper bulk stuff.

Re: winchester wildcat varmint bolt

yeah its tight to close with the bullet but mine is also like that without, when i just work the bolt back and forth with no shell in it

Re: winchester wildcat varmint bolt

Right on. I don't know about everybody else but mine shot so good with blazers and cci subsonics i didn't try much else. Wolf MT was awesome also. They just seem to be flat ass accurate guns. All the CZ guys i shoot with can only say the quality of their stock is better, lol. Hope you enjoy one of the best $200 guns made.

Re: winchester wildcat varmint bolt

I personally have had great luck with winchesters wildcat 22 rounds. Got them just for the name's sake and they ended up doing 3/4 moa consistantly at 100-150 yards. They're the same barrels the russian olympic shooting team used to use in the late 90's and early 2000's. Make sure you disassemble the bolt from time to time. Otherwise it's going to be rough cocking it too. I'll upload some pics/videos/links of various target shoots. My personal best with it was a 3" 5 shot group at 275yrds. I'll set a 19"x17" steel target at 345 yards and hit 8 of 10. I'm waiting for the corn to come down so I was get that distance back. Hope to set up two cameras taking video, one by me and one by the target. I'll keep ya posted.
