Finally got to go shooting at 200-600 yds. Wind was blowing from 9:30 at 22-30 mph & gusty. Had to hold almost 2 mils for wind correction at 600 yds on the steel plates. Got to beat up Steel Man with some lead as well. After we packed up and left found out there was a tornado warning for the area we were in.

Re: Windy day shooting

Both are Rem 700's in .308's with HS palm swell stocks & NF 20 MOA bases & rings. Camo one has an old Winchester hammer forged barrel 12 twist that has always shot well. NF 3.5-15 scope, DL turret. HTG M30 can. Load I settled on for it is 168 AMAX's @ 2710 fps.

Black one is a stock PSS that I just bought from a buddy for $600 (he'd never shot it and it just sat in his closet collecting dust) and it shoots EVERYTHING well - GMM175 / 2 different SMK handloads of mine - all of it 1/2 MOA. The factory rifle that you pray to get. Leupold Mk4 4.5-14 scope, DL turret. SWR Omega 30 can.

Re: Windy day shooting

A friend of mine has a buddy with some property out east. I get to go occasionally. I used to go shoot at a place that was just north of the airport but someone shot an exploding target one time and lit the place on fire. They then turned the range and we lost 600 yds so all it is now is 300 yds.
