My wife was never interested in guns until recently. She doesn't want to hunt, but loves to plink with the .22 and also took the concealed carry class. She carries a Rohrbaugh 9mm some of the time. I like the fact knowing that she is a pretty fair shot, knows gun safety and likes to go to the range with me periodically. I also know that she would not hesitate to defend herself with deadly force, if it came to that. How many of you have wives or significant others who shoot, etc?

Man...when I read the title of this post before clicking on it...I was a little worried that you'd had all you could take from the Mrs. and spared yourself the cost of a divorce atty OR, that you were looking for a "How To" guide!!!

Re: Wives and shooting

While not me wife, my girlfriend is a shooter and graduate of many classes both with and without me. Wouldn't trade it.

Makes buying presents fairly easy sometimes.

Re: Wives and shooting

My wife sometimes shoots. She has her own XD-9C and a lifetime carry permit. She can shoot fairly well and has taken a pistol class in the past. She really hasn't been into long guns. She recently got behind my rifle and was drilling a small stump 300 yards away. That built her confidence and if I can get her to train she may actually shoot some matches with me.

Re: Wives and shooting

My wife shoots regularly with me. She gets pissed if I go shooting without her, she shot her first match at the JST Match and did fairly well, 13th outta 30 (with a borrowed gun i might add)

But here is her with her 223 in a Manners T4A

Re: Wives and shooting

my wife-to-be never fired a weapon before we started dating a little over a year and a half ago. I got her hooked on the 10/22 @ steel and she has been shooting ever since. 12ga @ trap, the M1A, the 1911 and just last month she was putting 3 shots into a 2" group @ 200 yards w/ the 308 5R having never fired a high-powered bolt action before. She isn't as enthusiast about it as I am

but she completely understands my fascination and infatuation w/ the complexities of shooting and weapons. Now that she is moving to PA shortly, she will be getting a rifle of her own to master....decisions, decisions
