I am looking to buy a 223 for predator hunting. I would like to have a removable magazine for the rifle and I am left handed. I have been thinking about a Savage American classic with a wood stock. I want to have the stock, scope mounts, and scope dip camoed. Can they camo wood as easily as synthetic?? Tom.

Re: Wood vs. synthetic

I don't see any reason why it would be more difficult. However, you will still have the same concerns with the wood warping, and swelling. I don't see any benefit to a wood stock if you are going to paint it. The only thing I like about wood stocks are that they look like well like wood. If it were me I would get a synthetic stock I liked and then paint it.
