Im wanting to paint my remington 700 .30-06 stock only in woodland camo. Im wanting to because it is my hunting rifle. Does anyone have any pics of the rifles they have used woodland camo on or a tutorial on how to do it?

Its easy you just need to make templates with a painting tape.
Paint your base color then add templates where you wish for the color to stay then paint again with your next color then add templates again for your final color. Hope this helps.

Themed to be sort-of Woodland Camo. The first is Stripe Camo, and the second is Woodland with Digital Edges.

What is the purpose of putting a light on a long distance rifle? I've never understood that. (Not criticizing, honest question.)

My sons .22 and a basic wood land with Alumahyde II. I use painters tape to cut out my templates. Use the colors first that you want to show the least and use the color last that you want to be the main color. For that rifle I did black....stick on some templates...then brown........stick on some templates....the green last

one that small I can't speak for, but I've used some 350 and 500 lumen surefires and they can light up a target to where you can tell the difference in a coyote and a dog at 250-300 yards without optics...

dont know where yer hunting but for me in missouri, hunting seasons are typically fall/winter for rifles and id recommend a browner and tanner camo than woodland. i paint my own special turdflage to blend perfectly in this environ. just sugestin.

Are there any environments where woodland is really ideal? I was under the impression it kinda sucked no matter where you used it.
Does anyone have any pictures of the process of using the tape templates for painting?

dont have pics but here is a link to what I used. Vinyl sheets I picked up from Hobby Lobbey, they are adhesive backed so you just draw out the patterns, cut them out, and stick to the stock, paint, apply more, paint etc etc.

So basically, round up a kinder garden classroom and have them cut you out a bunch of squiggly shapes, stick to rifle and apply another layer of paint?

yep jayjay thats be the concept in a nut. just added that stuffsack 3d flage ghillie and a ammo wallet. its shaping up.

It is really easy to spot any rifle on a 200yd range, so I have no real need to camo any of my rifles. I just think the Woodland, Forest and Dark camo look too cool to pass up.
