Looking for some good information on how to properly do a work up load to find what my rifle likes, finally got some 6.5 .264 sierra matchkings on the way and dont want to waste my time doing something wrong, only took 5 months to get a box of 100!
OCW is what I prefer. I set the bullet .025" of the lands to test. Then once I've found my charge, I set the bullet out .005" at a time till I touch the lands abs select the most accurate. I can usually find a load in 40 rounds.
P.S. - buy more than one box at a time.

That's a fine method for finding the most accurate load, if your shooting a single shot rifle.
If your rifle has a magazine, and you actually want to use it, then you need to start your load development .005-.010" shorter than the distance to your lands or the max length of your magazine box, whichever is shorter......
