working up an OAL after finding sweet spot?

I'm having a little difficulty articulating my question so bear with me.

Say your begging to work loads up for .308. Factory OAL spec is 2.80" (right?). So you begin playing with the charge weights between min and max, and load them all to the spec OAL.
Right, so I get that part.
So you in theory find that say, 42 grains works the best and settle on that.

Now, you begin to experiment with your bullet seating depths. Should you continue to play with your charges? Or is that charge weight most likely the sweet spot, regardless of seating depth?

Thanks for putting up with my questions

you are always limited to magazine length....with that in mind you will want to have your gunplumber chamber a barrel accordingly.....

but with stock rifles like a Remington the throats are so far out there....you'll never extend the seating of the bullets to kiss the lands....so............you load bullets that like to make that jump from mag length to where ever the lands begin....as for THAT SWWEEEEEET spot....THATS really a function of powder charge....neck tension has a bearing also
