Re: Worst job you ever had thread
I suppose I'm like most. I grew up on a dairy farm in NV. Usually pretty dry so we didn't have to put up with knee deep shit all the time. Except when winter thaw hit but that was usually only for a few weeks.
VWhugger,
I used to AI cows all the time. Having your arm into a cows ass just above the elbow was no problem for me. Neither was milking. Cows would shit on your arm all the time. It used to piss me off though when they'd time it to hit the teat cup as you were putting them on. I drank that milk and I wanted it clean.
The worst job on a farm though wasn't AI'ing the cow, it was if the calf died while being born and two days later when you see something wrong had to go in by arm and manually clean her out. I have a pretty strong stomach but that made me puke.
Aside from that putting up with the daily blame game at a regional airline had my attitude in knots for a while. Plane takes a two hour delay 'cause a pilot/FA calls in sick and as soon as they get there they write something up. 15min Maintenance and 134min crew....but maintenance gets the blame. Or CSA is too busy to get that aircraft into the gate sitting there for three hours. Hint: This was the same airline that had passngers on board all night in Rochester MN a year ago.
The bitterness of working there still lingers.....
