I currently have Nightforce NXS scope with the NP-R1 reticle.
I like the scope and the reticle but lately have been considering send the optic in for a change to the MLR reticle with mil mil turrets for the fact a Mil is a Mil regardless of the distance.
Opinions please.

Re: Worth Changing Reticles?

I'd put it up for trade for the mil/mil version you want. there might be someone that has mil/mil and wants moa/moa.

I wouldn't pour more money into it though.

Re: Worth Changing Reticles?

An MOA is an MOA regardless of distance too. It's only when you're converting EITHER ONE to a linear measurement that they vary depending on distance.

That being said, I had decided it wasn't worth switching to me. They wanted like $550 to switch my 5.5-22x56 w/zs over to MIL/MIL. I figured I'd make out just as well by just selling the scope and "upgrading" to S&B, PH, or hensoldt. I wound up with PH since I could get two scopes with identical operation; one in 3-15 and another in 5-25.

well, a MOA is a MOA regardless of distance also.... just make sure the knobs and reticle are the same, either True-MOA or IPHY-MOA..... and you're good with all True MOA. You say you like your current reticle so why change?
