The link is well worth your time to read. It explains how the Gov established complete control over media and the net. All of this stems back to purposeful actions on the part of Bill Clinton in 1996, and concludes with a secret authorization under Obama. The net effect was to give the Office of the President the sole power to remove web sites that it says (without a defined standard) are engaged in propaganda. The authorization also established a fund to 'train' journalist (to write propaganda for the Gov). Funny thing... they never thought she'd loose. It was to expire 8 yrs after the date Obama signed it.

I wouldn't worry about "The Government" shutting down web sites, a bit too obvious.

Rather what happens now is "Private Companies" which just happen to be big multinational corporations "Decide" or are "told" by various entities ranging from SJWs to LGBTQ+ warriors, Political party operatives hoping to rig elections/primaries/get rid of opponents, to Three Letter Agencies that certain content needs to vanish because it's "hateful" or "not inclusive" some such thing.

Full on censorship is already well in swing, just your precious "private companies" are the face of it.
