So I'm rather new to the long range game but I really want to get started right. I don't really want anything exotic, just something that shoots straight. I was hoping to get some suggestions from guys that have shot/have experience with these systems on what to look for. I've done a little of homework and I want to go with a 308 Win (already have reloading setup and ammo). Obviously a bolt action would be preferred. I've looked at the Rem 700, Savage FCP-SR, but on the completely opposite of the spectrum the SAKO TRG-22. I'm more looking for 500+ yards (somewhat limited to range where I'm from) but I am really concerned with accuracy from these systems. Maybe if you could suggest some glass that won't break the bank and go well with these systems, that would be appreciated as well. I'm interested in the Vortex Viper series, seems like they give you a lot of options for a good price but the Bushnell Elites have always been highly rated. Let me know if you have any input or suggestions on it. Thanks.
