Wow, Ozzy's gone.........

As a Stagehand, I worked on a number of his shows in the latter 70's. I was never much of a fan, but I can say that his shows were always top quality. They didn't cut any corners, sound and lighting were top drawer, they were always well rehearsed and gave the audience more than they paid for.

Seems like he had to have known that he was on his way out. I guess his "Last Concert" really was his "Last Concert".........

Well, Batman will sleep easier tonite....

Surprised he made it this far!

Was never really a fan. But he certainly made his mark on popular culture!

RIP Ozzy! You lived a hell of a life!

Sirhr

PS. "Live fast, die young, leave a good looking corpse," never applied to Ozzie who was too damn ugly to leave a good looking corpse ;-) So good thing he made it to some level of old age. And he could he belt out metal!

His Hall of Fame induction was a shock to see his state. He looked dead there

Wow...just read this on the news. Didn't Black Sabbath have their last official show recently? And Ozzy sat in a chair at some other show in LA I think maybe first of the year?

Saw him once, soon after Rhodes was killed. Jake E Lee took over at that time.

His 2nd to last album was probably the best music I've heard come out in a long time.

God bless John Robert "Ozzy" Osbourne and his family. I think he was okay with Black Sabbath but I liked him better on his own. And Sharon was a blessing to him. Ozzy can sing and perform but cannot get two pennies together. But Sharon can and it is because of her that they had a nice pot to piss in.

One of my favorite stories is from Zakk Wylde when he was struggling with his drinking. "When Ozzy tells you that you have a problem..."

As for biting the head of a bird, that was an accident. But it freaked everyone out and that made for good press.

Biting the head off the bat was also an accident. They were performing outside and the temperature was in the 40s F. At that temperature, bats are sleeping. Someone threw a live bat on stage and he thought it was made of licorice. As he bit into and realized this really was a bat, he was rushed to a hospital to start injections for rabies.

I think one of his greatest sorrows that never really went away was losing Randy Rhodes.

He may have been the Prince of Darkness but he was had crucifixes around the house hung in the proper fashion.

Speaking of Keith Richards, he may not even have started pre-need funeral arrangements.
