Hi Folks,

I am looking for the AXMC Small Firing Pin bolt assemble (28340BL) to run x47 caliber for PRS competition.

Is there anybody plan to sell it?

Thanks

Updated: 10/03/2019 Just got an Email from Euro the black firing pin assemble group in stock.

There is also the option to send you existing bolt / firing pin to LRI to get bushed.

Then you just need to order another firing pin to go with your other bolt bodies.

Thank you, it sounds like a good option to me, but my concern is, other than firing pin diameter and length, is there any other geometric difference in firing pin or Bolt shell exist?

According to reply from AINA, the only option is to buy the entire bolt assemble. Since I don't have one, I don't know the difference between so called "small firing pin bolt" or "AXMC standard bolt for 308"

If you are wanting to go with the modifying your existing setup route, you might want to just contact @LongRifles Inc. and they can explain it to you.

But basically you will send them your bolt body & your firing pin & those two will be mated together from then on as a set & you won't be able to swap with other standard bodies/firing pins.

Which is why for your other bolt bodies you'll want to buy another AI firing pin assembly.

(Unless they may offer to bush all your bolt bodies to match that pin at the same time), again something you might discuss with them.

There is no problem having LRI bush your existing bolt... I would just buy a factory small firing pin... I think it's 1.6mm and have them bush and turn your large firing down to the same size, so you have a matched backup firing pin

Thanks for your info and I will contact them see what options they might have.

The problem is, AI is not going to sell SFP separately apart from bolt body. If they do, of course I can only buy a firing pin, since I already have standard 308 Long action bolt shell.

I asked LRI about this exact possibility the other day and he didn't seem to think it would work

I had Carlsbad on AS do my AX308 bolt and he turned the pin to 1.6mm for me so i could use a factory SFP if i had to replace the LFP he turned down

His turnaround time was within the same week... great work

Good to know for the OP as this is a sweet option just in case you bust a firing pin in the future.

I was just letting the op know I don't think LRI will do it but worth asking.

Have you checked to see if a factory ai sfp works with your bushed bolt @atombomb ?

My AXMC was bushed, but the pin was 1.86mm so it's probably best to get with your gunsmith if you want to use factory firing pins later on down the road, otherwise just buy and send an extra LFP and they can turn it down with your original to match the bushing hole. My AX308 turned down pin matched the factory small firing pin, but I specified that ahead of time...

You just need the MC one

I emailed Mile high this morning, not only the firing pin is different, also the bolt body is different, so the only option is to buy the entire assemble once it is back to stock. Otherwise I assume is to find a gunsmith such as LRI to modify and try to make it works.

Spoke with Chat @LongRifles Inc. again this this morning about the possibility of getting axmc bolt bodies bushed to fit with the factory AI SFP and he says that he is willing to get some tooling to make it work. I am sending him my non sfp bolt bodies and fp's to get bushed to my sfp spec.

Yesterday one of my friend in local has the SFP assemble and borrow it to me, once I saw the difference, I found three:

1. Bolt body dimension looks like to be the same, but the firing pin hole in SFP and LFP bolt is different, SFP hole is smaller.

2. Firing pin position is different.

3. Firing pin itself

Overall, I give up to send it to gun smith to get it modify, and will wait for a new assemble back to order.
