Hello, and before it starts I understand cheap has a different meaning when it comes to that size. Prefer magazine fed, prefer not to wait 18 month for serbu, pet me know what you have thanks
Seth

Dont need to spend 10k on the newest cadex built. Or the 15 for a edm or ai packages. So now everyone's going to jump on the manufacture who makes a gun saying what it is, only to have a video of someone shooting unknown ammo through a gun specifically stated. Donyou shoot the hottest rounds through a garand then get shocked when theres damage.

I agonized over the many choices in the marketplace, went with a Barrett before the crazy pricing started. I concluded that cheap and 50 bmg do not go together. A few months back several sellers were offering McMillan 50 actions for around $2500......may be a good place to start. Safety is my primary concern when shooting any firearm. Good luck with your quest.

You say you want a “cheap” 50

But then say you don’t want to wait 18 months for the Serbu. Which I assume your referring to the 50A since you want a mag?

If that’s the case just get a used Barrett if you want a semi

Or the bolt M95 if you want the mag as stated

If you don’t mind a single shot the Armalite AR50A1 is my current 50 and is a awesome very well built gun

At one point I owned the Serbu BFG50. I thought it was garbage when I owned it. After seeing the cheaper model explode and seeing videos from the company itself there’s absolutely no fucking way I’d ever buy another one.

Armalite AR50A1 on the cheap
Barrett M95 if you want the mag
Barrett M82/107 if you want semi
AI/Cadex if you want the best but $$$

You do not want to buy a "cheap" .50BMG. That Serbu came apart for a couple of reasons. The SLAP rounds the guy was shooting thru the compensator on the end not designed for that and the fact that the gun is held together by basically cheap pipe threads that gave way. Do what ya want though free country and natural selection and all.

I feel this may be where missed, I'm looking cheap for the realm of what it is. Not expecting Townsend under 2k, not wanting to spend over 6 if possible. No stock local, and very few used moving around. Appreciate the later replies I've been looking at bfg 50 and a, barreled actions.

I’d stay away from the Serbu. And I would have said the same before the RN model kaboom

The BFG 50 I had several issues. The 30 MOA scope base came mounted backwards. This doesn’t sound like much of an issue but the holes that hold the base on are just bolt/nut and the holes in the raised steel mount on the gun (which is ugly as fuck) has a lot of slop

When torquing the base it would twist off center. Ended up pinning the base to keep it straight.

It also came with a trigger that was almost 10 lbs and I had to press the hammer in the action down each time to close the bolt as it hung up on the hammer

Compared to my Armalite it was a real POS

The A models have extraction issues as well
