Reloading Equipment WTB Hodgdon H 4350

What does a lb of H 4350 go for these days?

I just sold an 8lb yesterday.

Gunbroker has many listings for 1 & 8 pounds. Only being interested in the spot price of jugs, I ignored 1 pound auctions. Full jugs with less than 2 days left are bidding between just shy of $600 and $650ish. Only one jug listed had a BIN price which was $700. In the past two weeks I've seen BIN of $900. Smart bidders don't drive the price up with ever increasing bids. They wait until the last minute and place one bid.

Real value floats in a free market, subject to supply and demand. For just a couple of very brief windows when an online retailer had stock for a few minutes, value dropped to normal, $225-240 plus shipping and Hazmat. As soon as it was gone, it's back to the secondary market value.

I had wanted to trade even for a jug of H1000 or Retumbo, both equally scarce. That did not happen.

Also I would have taken ammo, but while powder prices have risen by a factor of 2 to 2-1/2 times, ammo has risen by a factor of 3 to 4 times. I had trade offers but that ammo would have set on a shelf. Maybe long enough for supply and demand-and prices-to return to normal.
