Looking for a scope to put on a budget custom/semi-custom build. I know the PST Gen II is very popular and would like one used or something else similar.

I have both the Athlon Midas TAC 5-25x56 and viper pst gen ii 5-25x50. IMO The Athlon Midas TAC 5-25x56 is far better and $200 less but it doesn’t have a illuminated reticle. I never use the ir anyway but that’s just me. The Midas has larger tube and objective lens. 12mils more elevation and tracking is dead on balls.
Have you checked out the vortex strike eagle 5-25x56 Mil? They’re cheaper than the viper pst gen ii and nearly as good optically and better than it in other ways. They have more elevation adjustment so you can adjust for longer shots, a larger tube and objective lens so it’s brighter. Good luck and happy shooting

I've looked into the strike eagle a little. I actually don't really want an ir anyway. I need to check out the Athlon Midas more too. Thanks for the feedback
