Remember, a muzzle break is designed to direct the muzzle blast sideways and backwards so that it’s energy will cancel some of the recoil of the gun.
In order to do this when the bullet arrives at the port, it acts as a seal for the muzzle so the blast following it will go sideways, so there is a lot of fire and brimstone going through this area….
