Up for sale is one of the Rarest AI rifles, a 97 Al SM rifle that it is chambered in .338 Lapua Mag., not many were manufactured in the .338 LM caliber. This rifle is in the earlier non folding green 1.5 chassis, factory barrel with the large two chamber muzzle brake. And it has a Knight's Armament SR98 mounting rail part#21358-51 for a clip-on night vision device. Don't let this Rare rifle get away from you. Comes with one magazine.

Just noticed this.

Some due diligence for anyone looking to buy if it is still for sale.

This is 1 of 10 commemorative Dutch SLA repros made by AI in the late 90s for the US market only. The G22A1s floating about for tens of thousands, which are actually also replicas, were commissioned at the same time, along with Australian SR98s which are 7.62.

Old AI catalogues describe these as having been built using parts from overproduction straight off the lines of the genuine contract rifles. Serial numbers are not continuations of the genuine issued rifles however.

This rifle for sale does unfortunately have the wrong muzzle brake and the SR98 bracket does not belong on this.

The SLA and SR98 repros don’t appear to have been fully sold, or at least were not a full comprehensive package like the G22A1 repros. I know of a SR98 repro which had everything but the rifle still in storage at the AI factory. I have part of a SLA repro action chopped up and passed around as an armourer’s training/demo component.
