I‘ve had my generation 1, GAP-10, 308 for about 8-years and it has not given me any problems. I will say the barrel is a little finicky when it comes to liking certain rounds. My barrel does not like Hornady ammo. I shoot M118LR through the barrel, and I’m still getting within 1 MOA at 100 yards.
I live in California, so it’s really hard to find a public range that will allow me to shoot this beautiful gun, so I rarely shoot it. The barrel has approximately 1000 to 1500 rounds throw it. It’s an old rifle, so it does have a few nicks and scratches -character marks. I want to build a bolt gun with the sale of this rifle.
