Loading up some 308 rounds for 1000yd shooting which I’ve never done! All my friends have pointed me toward 155s over varget or h4895. I unfortunately only have 1 box of 155s to play with and will likely need at least 500. I have plenty of reloading components for trade, so let me know what you have and what you need for it! I'd roll with a 175 smk.... I was really happy with my load running that bullet in my .308 barrel. You can do it with 155's but I don't understand why you'd want to when you can do it easier with 175 or 185 sierras
Check fin feather and furs website. They usually have the smk palmas. #2156 those are pretty good bullets
Unless you have a 30”-32” barrel I would go with the Berger 175 but what do I know….
if your friends think that the 155 is a magic bullet because the PALMA competitions are shot with them, go ask any Palma shooter what bullet he wishes he could use, they only use them because the rules say so….

It all depends on chamber and mag length. In short 308’s and AICS mag SAMI length it’s hard to beat the 155’s with H4895 especially on unknown distance ranges
now if you can load longer and have enough barrel the 185 Berger’s are way to go until you get to a longer chamber such as 2013 Team FTR reamer then 200’s take over

what do you really know about 1000 yd shooting with 155s?
Never shot the Lapua 155s, but shot a lot of their Scenars in a 260 and was super pleased with their performance.
Also OP, MHS did have a BUNCH of 155.5 Bergers in 500 boxes, you could call them and check.
The Berger 155.5 is the easiest of the group to make shoot in my experience They just shoot We the USA F TR Team used them to win 2009 Worlds in Bisley We won both teams and several lines with them. Great bullet

I have ~700 berger 155.5s I'd be willing to sell. 500 in one box then 200 leftover from another 500
@driftersgear hooked me up with some Berger lrht. He has several different good bullets. Shipped it out super fast and I paid with my credit card too.
