I'm looking to trade my sp-4006 (34mm, 0 mil/moa, 1.35") for a sp-4001 to bring a new scope down a little lower. It's used but in great shape. I'll post better pictures soon. Not interested in selling right now until I find a replacement

I'm just wondering if you would even be able to utilize the wedge if going that low into the mount. I know my Kahles 525 in the 4001 is pretty damn close. Same with my Kahles 624. Wish I had a spare one to let you try. I might look for someone who has done it first. I can understand wanting to get a little bit closer though.

I'm having a hard time finding pictures of people that have done it. I may decide but one before I get rid of this one just in case. If it doesn't work I may have to use different rings as the height bothers me as it is

It’s going to drop .170 that’s almost 3/16. I’d check the clearance in your mount with a feeler gauge first if you have a set.

To clear up some of the confusion here is a picture of the two side by side. There is no intereference in the sp-4001 mount beacause the base of the mound is made differently. As you can see the bottom of the 4001 is lower profile and actually uses five bolts instead of the 4 on the 4006. Clearance inside the mount remains the same.
