WXR Powder????

I can buy this stuff for $15 a pound. On the burn chart it is close to RE 22. It seems no one uses it and it never got popular. Has anyone had any success with it. Has any one had any problems with it? It has been around for a while I am told.

Hell for $15 a pound I would buy some a test it! If it shoots for you buy it all!

I just picked up 24 lbs of IMR-4064 off a older guy for $75 / 8lbs! He has more stuff and I need to get over to his home and look thru what he has! Wife is going to kill me!

This powder is at a wholesaler. He says he can't sell it?? He has ten cases of it. Two eight pound cans per case. I thought it was a good value as well but wanted to see if anyone had any good things to say about it before I bought any. I am not looking for any new powder but if it performs well in some loads I will get some.

Should work well in things like heavy .243 or .300 Win Mag. Never tried it, but at that price I'd give eight pounds a whirl. Some of the Winchester powders are dirty, others are fine.

I use it in 243 win./87 grain vmax, 300 wsm/ 180 grain sierra gameking. My friend uses it in his 270 win./ 130 grain speer b.t. Winchester powders always drives me nuts they way they would introduce, then eliminate certain powders. You get close to max case capacity with max loads.

I have a jug of this. I am considering using it in my 6mm. What is the max loading you are using in the 243? I have a .243 and some 87gr vmax, too.

I used it in my dads 7mmRm, using 162 Amax with 62-63grs. Slightly faster than RL22.

I have the load info from Hogdgon. I can get you a copy or you can get them from Hogdgon by calling tech support.

It's also on sale at Graf's this month for $15 a pound and you don't need to buy 16 pound of it, but you will have hazmat.

Did some digging on this web site & found Quickload info a poster placed. 49 grains of WXR max load for 87 grain vmax. Did a Optimum Load Development for my accurate load. I use 48.6 grains. Fed GM210M primer. Lapua brass. 5 thou. off lands & grooves.
7/16 inch 4 shoot group @ 100 yards.
3/4 inch x 1 5/16 inch 4 shot group @ 200 yards.
