Wyatts 300wm setup

Ordered from Midway, an installed the bottom metal an mag's into my HS/P stocked 700 Remington as I don't like my weapons, somewhere else at all, any more. Bottom metal fit perfect, inserted the first 10 rd mag an was not happy. Mag was past loose an lockup was very poor. Tried the second 10 rd mag same thing.

Removed the bottom metal to put the weapon back in service. (When I ordered everything I also ordered a 5 rd mag as well but it was on back order.) Long, short, I got side tracked on other things until the 5 rd mag came in.
Well lets just try it, found it fit perfect into the bottom metal. Pulled the weapon apart again and reinstalled the bottom metal an tried the 5 rd'er, perfect fit an lock up. Got out the calipers and found a major difference between the 5's an 10's.

Called Wyatts and what a surprise, they had changed the specs for the 300wm set up. Kevin Wyatt said to return the wrong 10's and he would replace with the correct ones as soon as he got them.

I've shot the 300 with the 5 an love it, it works perfect, no way are you going to knock it out an it's drop free, allowing a max OAL 0f 3.740 with 0.003 to spare.
Great setup for those who want to do their own, plus no in-letting, shipping or waiting for a great system that gives you more than enough OAL room.
The OAL is what was holding me back on some other systems, plus the other cons of shipping, in letting, an cost ect, for the Tacticool names.

Re: Wyatts 300wm setup

I so glad to hear that! My rifle is at the smith now and I ordered the Wyatt's mag system for mine to be installed while its there, as it was MUCH cheaper the the equivalent Badger Ord set-up. I have a month or two till I get it back and can't wait to test it out!
