X-Caliber 6.5 CM barrel - 4140 or 416R?

I'm narrowing down barrel choices for my short/tactical 6.5 Creedmoor build and looking at X-Caliber.

It looks like they may be able to give me what I am looking for (16" w/rifle gas, in various profiles), so if I go this way, I can get a finished product, rather than a barrel that, once purchased, needs to be profiled, shortened & threaded, etc.

XC offers nitriding, but only for 4140, not the 416R stainless variant. I want a black barrel, so what would I be giving up by going 4140? I've heard there is better accuracy w/stainless, but more barrel life w/4140. Is this correct?

Is there anything else I should know? Could I get the stainless, and finish it later myself? If so, how?

And this forum gets pissed at me when I type, "Remember, most people can't shoot."

And I said that before leaving Stone Bay as an Instructor and lowlight coming on as a Student.

.308/6.5 @ 18", OP or just fuck me to tears.

Not sure what you are contributing to this thread - if anything - but for your own edification (unless you already know everything) Tikka offers their T3X A1 6.5 CM in 16" -for MIL/LEO only.

They may know what they are doing.

The first stupid/idiotic shit for brains thing that I have ever known them to do.

As for you...

What are the powders used for each? Hint: H4895, Varget, H4350, https://media.giphy.com/media/3o7WTP...747S/giphy.gif

Match them to barrel lengths, sir. {BURN RATES PER CALIBER}

What color is your bird house?

BTW, my contribution was the fact that it is stupidity to go 260REM in a gasser when 6.5CM is available. Was that so hard?

Zak Smith, Zediker, EGW are much more congenial than me but will tell you the same answer.
