So the other night I decided to paint my rifle before installing my new glass, anyway I did a function test after getting everything back together and figure out that when I flip the saftey off the rifle will fire, if you get a firm grip on it and go slow its fine but if you just flip it with your thumb it will fire every time. I have adjusted the trigger to 1 3/4lb via the "gunsmith only" screw inside so that may be the cause but I'm not sure as I don't think I have ever used the saftey. Not a big deal to me because there will be a timney in there soon enough and as far as I'm conserned my saftey is attached to my right hand. Just an FYI for anyone that is running the x mark.

This sounds like the issue the Xmark Pro trigger was supposed to fix. There was a huge thing on 60 minutes or dateline or something about remington triggers firing when the safety is disengaged. Why not go in and tighten up that "gunsmith only" screw a bit to maybe 2-3lbs or even heavier just to see if it fixes the problem. Also what I learned adjusting my Huber Concepts is you want to make small adjustments each time.

Yea I saw the 60min deal, I tried slamming the bolt and bouncing the rifle on its butt also with no problems, when the timney gets here ill turn the weight up and see if that changes it's attitude at all.

Remington's response to that video showed that all the rifle, ALL OF THEM, that fired by slamming the bolt, taking off the safety, etc. were modified by the user. In this case, it's most likely due to you messing with the trigger. I guess it doesn't matter since you're just taking it out anyway, but I wouldn't blame the rifle. Reminds me of people doing 25cent trigger jobs on Glocks and acting surprised when a malfunction happens lol.

I saw the response as well and was glad to see it,I don't blame remington at all I figure its more than Likley due to me messing with it. Just wanted to give a heads up because I know I have read posts were other guys have used the internal adjustment.
