X ray L2/3 rail install Q.

Hello,
I recently got the X ray chassis from krg and am having difficulty installing the L2 and L3 rails that came with the chassis. I put the rail in the correct spot but the screws just spin and do not catch on anything.
Can anyone give me advice?

Use the backing plates (or nuts)that came with the kit ? I think that's covered in the instructions? I ran into that with the spigot mount as I skipped reading the instructions before I started assembling (just like I did with Legos).
