I know Im retarded but how retarded. Getting the hankering to play some old 360 games….. gears of war, brutal legend, alice madness returns ect. Is it worth getting a refurb xbox or hunt down an xbox series x with a disc drive.

My kid just modded my original Xbox so we could play Halo again.
He was babbling on about the 360, but I think Xbox live support is dead there. I only use mine to play Forza because I have a steering wheel.

I got a support call once on the weekend, late at night while I was out. I found a neighborhood and drove around, slowly, with my laptop on the dash until I found a good strength, open network, and then sat out in front of this person's house fixing servers.
Can't do it anymore unfortunately, everyones wifi is password protected.
Kinda unnecessary now since it takes 3 seconds to turn the hotspot on my phone and connect anywhere with cell signal.
I like to dress up in full kit and larp around the neighborhood in the dark when I work nights.

I get the love for 360. When I worked 2nd shift I could never come home and go straight to sleep, I played a lot of racing and shooter games to wind down. Moved up to the xbox one and seemed like every time I fired it up to play either the system or the game required a fucking update that took an hour to download. Started playing less and less after that. I miss the days of insert disc and play. No internet connection or continuous bugs and updates bs. When I get the urge for gaming now I drag out the nes or snes. Nothing like Ninja Gaiden, FZero or Turtles in Time 
While not really a cul de sac, I do live on a dead end road in the middle of the sticks.
Cul de Sac Operators sounds better than anything with dead end in the title though lol.
Virtually all of the 360 titles worth playing are on PC or the X.
The 360 is the last system I'd want to keep around considering how awful the hardware design was for longevity.
