Sidearms & Scatterguns XDm velocity loss from a 4.5 to a 3.8 9mm

i have been thinking about picking up another XDm. i have the 5.25 competition, and the 3.8 compact. both are 9mm.

my question is, how much velocity am i loosing if i get the 3.8 barrel? this will be a dedicated home defense weapon as a host for a storm lake barrel and a YHM cobra 9mm suppressor (sent my form in on 6-13-12).

i would like to get another 3.8, but in a full size grip/frame. but if i am loosing a lot of velocity, i'll get the 4.5.

i am going to sell the 3.8 compact to help finance the new XDm 3.8/4.5 purchase. the 3.8 compact was my carry gun, but i am going to pick up an XDs tomorrow as my carry gun. there are a few shops around that the little guy in stock.

Use quality ammo and don't worry about the velocity loss.

Bottom line: Not enough to lose sleep over. 9mm is not meant to be shot 300 yards. If you wnat that then go with a 5.7.

Winchester PDX1 125gr JHP goes 1200 from my Glock 19, and 1150 from my Kahr PM9.
