Gunsmithing XLR Chassis on Savage 10-BA

Hi Guys,
I have a Savage 10-BA and it is really heavy

I've weighted the lower part of the chassis and that alone weighs 5 lbs 3oz. The top rail portion has to be at least another couple of pounds. So I'm thinking about taking the whole chassis off and replacing it with a 4 lbs. XLR Tactical chassis.

Does anyone have any experience with this combination of chassis and rifle? All advice is appreciated.

Wow!! Am I the first guy to do this? Or is this old hat?
Nothing good, nothing bad said. I went ahead and ordered it, the bad news is that there is a 10 week backlog.
