I currently have SA 700 in 6.5creed, criterion barrel, in this XLR chassis and the last two matches I had magazine/feeding issues. Seems like after I chamber a round, the round underneath the feed ramp and seeing if anyone has had this issue or a possible fix? I’ve tried 4 different brands of mags, MDT, AI, Magpul, and another AICS mag. So on every stage after I open the bolt ejecting brass, I have to reach up and press down on the next round to get unstuck from the feedramp.

    Thanks

This sounds like a dirty/worn mag issue. The only thing a chassis controls in regards to feeding is magazine height. Too low, and the bolt will skip over the top of the round. The rest is handled with the correlation between the receiver and the magazine. I would recommend taking your mags apart and cleaning them. If you have access to compressed air, that makes life easier. It may be beneficial to slightly stretch the magazine spring out to increase the free length and thus add a bit of pressure. 6.5 Creed should feed issue free pretty easily.

Bullet tip hanging up under feed ramp?

    Notch your feed ramp.
Generally shouldn’t be an issue with magpul and AICS mags but maybe your feed ramp is cut just a bit funny.

It’s not like Remington hasn’t done some funny stuff before.

Thank you xLR for checking my post out! That’s some great customer focus and appreciate it. So I’ve done this test with 2 brand new mags as well, although that could be the same issue. I took a picture the best I could of what’s going on. With AI mags and a magpul

looks to me like its caught on the feed ramp which isnt notched. this is an issue with stock rem 700s and not seen on custom actions which are meant to handle the 2.96" rounds of AW and non binder plate mage

@spife7980 has an image/diagram saved somewhere

Rounds too long for your Rem700 chamber. Hung on bottom of feed ramp. Not a chassis issue. What COAL are those rounds?? What bullet?

6.5cm rounds shouldnt be anywhere near the max length of a Rem700 action...

Only time I had this problem with a Rem700 was 260rem with 140 Hybrids....

We are more than happy to notch your feed ramp for you at no charge. You would just need to send us the receiver.

    140 hybrids at 2.800

I’m actually using 140 hybrids and they are at SAAMi spec 2.8 OAL.

To XLR, that’s an awesome offer and might take you up on that. I’m located in cheyenne and would be happy to come down to CO where you guys are located

So I made a wrong assumption about xlr and apologize, I had a KRG before I traded for an element and never had any feeding issues with that stock. I’m really happy with the xlr I just have been having feeding issues and all you guys kinda got it narrowed down for me and appreciate all the help. Having xlr notch is the answer.

That doesn’t seem like a chassis problem as it
Yea you shouldn't have a notching issue at 2.80... you have mags without binders and they are slipping forward??
The only way that this seems possible in a rem 700 is with mags with no binder plate. ARC mags allowed this to happen with my 700 and Axiom action.

We have seen in some cases that the feed ramp protrudes and slightly blocks the mag even with the short 2.80 lengths. It is rare but does happen on some Remmy's. We have moved the mag location back as far as we can to minimize this but then we run into the "tit" at the back of the Remington mag well cutout on the receiver. An extra .040" clearance factory would be awesome lol.
